Give up watching TV for a month - 69th Day

I have been getting into this bad habit of watching TV and ignoring important things in life. Today I decided to stop watching TV for a month that is from March 11th, 2013 to April 11th, 2013. In this spare time when I used to watch TV, I am going to concentrate on good things and how I can change different aspects of my life and help anyone I can in any way I can.

Helped a friend deliver furniture - 68th Day

One of our friends needed to get his furniture from IKEA but did not have a bigger car to move his stuff. We offered our car and helped him move his stuff home. 

Offered a friend to use our garage - 67th Day

My husband's friend wanted to work on his shelves and needed some room to get his work done. My husband and I offered our garage for him to use for his work . I also took care of his little one for some time when they were busy getting the raw material in the garage  and gave some freshly made food for his wife.

Things and spare places that can be used and re-used to help someone, is a great way of sharing and making optimum utilization of resources. 

Tipped generously my hair stylist - 66th Day

Today when I went for my hair cut, I genuinely took interest in my stylist's talks and listened to her say about her dream wedding. She did a great job and I thanked her dearly. When it was time for tipping , I generously tipped her for her to make sure, she did a great job and how much I appreciate her work. 

I was always against tipping, I used to think people should get paid for what they do what is the point of tipping them, but I think I felt like I wanted to tip her and felt it right to do it. I do not have a valid argument but sometimes it feels right to do things, then go with your gut feeling and do it.

Recycled every bit of it - 65th Day

I usually recycle paper , cardboard , plastic and bottles but today I recycled every small bit of it .Made sure nothing that could be recycled goes in garbage, everything separated to be recycled properly. Paper and plastic in recycle bins. 

Recycling to make our planet a better place to live in . If everyone recycled in the world we would leave a little smaller carbon footprint in this world for our kids.

Waved at a little boy - 64th Day

This morning while going to work, I saw this little boy going to school all by himself . I looked out of my car and waved at him good bye , until he noticed. When he noticed, he looked at me , smiled and waved back. This got a smile on his face and I loved his expression .Just a simple wave can make someone smile, loved it.

Commented 3 different people on facebook - 63rd Day

Commented people on facebook. Today when I logged in on facebook, picked up 3 different people on facebook and liked their pics and wrote genuine comments on their pictures. Expressed loved and happiness for them and mention genuinely how lovely they looked. 

Being genuine is the true way to compliment someone, as when you are not genuine and making things up, even a toddler can catch that, so be genuine and say it with a loving heart.

Wished an aunt over video chat - 62nd Day

 

Wished an aunt at midnight who lives in a different country and as we could not be there physically, we wished her via Google Hangout. We even burnt a candle here and she blew it over our video chat call. We sang the birthday song for her and made here super happy, she was actually in tears of joy. 

Technology these days could really do wonders, I love how it binds people even if we are far far away from them. No reasons, no excuses, we can just do it.

Complimented a stranger - 61st Day

Today when we were shopping , I saw this sales girl who was always smiling even when she was frustrated with all the customers trying to annoy her. I saw she was being really patient and nice to everyone in the store. I stood there for almost about half an hour checking clothes but all throughout she was just being a sweetheart.

I went to her and told her what a nice person she was and I told her I was really touched with her attitude of smiling all the time even when it was tough for her to do. I even told her that she has an art of being so jolly and charming with any kind of situation and She smiled and said , I don't see a reason to be upset for anything, that actually in turn made my day.

Recorded a video for a cousin's wedding - 60th Day

Recorded a personal video message for a cousin's wedding and sent it to her as we cannot attend her wedding. Gathered all the cousins and relatives and did a combined video. It is just a special personalized thing to do , when you are far far away , but you still  want to make them feel you are part of it.

Making someone's big day a special one when you are so far away , using technology breaking all the barriers, another way of doing a good deed.
